A beautiful Castle, one of the largest in the world, built in 50 years, surrounded by breathtaking grounds, fountains and gardens.

The story starts like a fairy tale: Once upon a time a little prince, future King Louis XIV, treated like trash by his family and his courtiers, finally takes his revenge, forcing all his court to live according to a very strict "etiquette" a mechanism of rules to dominate them.

See the stunning great apartments, the king's bedroom, the bed of Marie Antoinette with 1100 pounds of gold on the top. Walk through the breathtaking "Hall of Mirrors," where the independence of the States were signed, and really get to understand the French revolution! I will introduce you to the fascinating stories, loves intrigues, and poisoning affairs that has made Versailles so unique.

Did you know where Louis XIV's passion for the sun, his symbol, originated? Or that there was a secret passageway underneath the Hall of Mirrors permitting the Queen to rejoin the King in his apartments? That the games like billiard, dancing, and concerts were an important part of Louis’ political strategy.

In fact, Versailles is like a big comedy where the royal family demonstrated the fine art of playing games!!! The Queen had no privacy at all and she had to give birth in public! Did Marie Antoinette really say "if they have no bread, let them eat cake"? Did King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette deserve the guillotine? Is Versailles history progress or was it decadence? Let's take a break at a fabulous brasserie nestled in the trees of the Versailles garden, where you will be able to marvel at the castle's magnificent facade and admire the splendours of its views, the fountains, and the forests. Bring your camera for there is something beautiful in every direction.
Next we will see both the Petit and the Grand Trianons (sort of week end palace.
Then we will visit the most adorable place in the garden: the Hamlet of Marie Antoinette where she played the farmer among her animals,producing her own vegetables, cheeses and bread! A wonderful place full of serenity, peace and beauty.
