Modern Art Museum
Located in the palate of Tokyo built for the international exhibition of 1937, the museum was inaugurated in 1961. Its collections, rich person of more than 8000 works illustrate various currents of the art of the XXème century. Exposures on the great movements and the outstanding artists of the scene européene of the XXème century but also monographic exposures and sets of themes present the principal tendencies of the art of today.

Anchored in a Parisian history, it was articulated initially with the creation of the museum itself, designed within the framework of the International exhibition of arts and the techniques of 1937 to open indeed only in 1961 with in particular, a core of works coming from the “modern” collections of the Small Palate enriched thanks to generosity by the collectors Emanuele Sarmiento, Mathilde Amos, Ambroise Vollard.
